- Revealing mistakes: On top of the ruins there is an opening with a rope in which people can lower others by turning a wheel. When one of the characters is going down into the ruins, the camera changes quickly between the person going down into the ruins and the characters lowering the rope. Even though they are lowering a person into the ruins, they are actually twisting the wheel the wrong way, which shows the rope moving up, as if they are taking someone out of the ruins.
- Continuity: When inside the ruins, Amy clearly loses her glasses while trying to escape from the vines. She and Stacy are pulled out of the ruins and she has no glasses. Two scenes later she is wearing her glasses again, then every scene after that she has no glasses, through the end of the film.
- Continuity: In the beginning of the film, Amy is wearing sunglasses. The camera looks away and when it looks back she is wearing glasses, then after it looks away and looks back again she is once again wearing sunglasses.
- Revealing mistakes: Even though he's trapped on top of a Mayan ruin for days without any toiletries (as it was only supposed to be a day trip), Jeff stays amazingly clean shaven.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: After Stacy tells Eric that she beat Jeff at cards, they kiss. But you can hear Eric saying "I knew you could do it," while kissing Stacy.

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.
- Plot holes: SPOILER: Near the end of the movie, when Amy has feigned her death and is lying at the base of the temple, the killer vines ignore her. A short time later, when Jeff is killed by arrows by the villagers, the vines almost immediately grab onto him and drag him away. The faked death plan to allow Amy to escape shouldn't have worked since you would think the villagers would have noticed that Amy lying there "dead" would have been dragged away. Thus, the villagers should have killed her right there.
